Pantomime (added 21/11/17) NEW!
Our annual Pantomime visit is coming up on Tuesday 12th December and we are very excited to see Beauty and the Beast at Rutherglen Town Hall! All payments should have been made by now, but if not please make sure you go by the office as soon as possible, it is £6 per child. This includes their ticket, bus and a snack pack - so no need to provide anything additional.
Christmas Events (added 9/11/17) NEW!
We have lots of events coming up in anticipation of the Christmas period and more detailed information on these will follow, however at the moment we are looking for donations for our tombola or raffle at the Christmas Fayre on 8th December from 1.30-3.30pm. If you have any items or services you'd be willing to donate we would be very appreciative. We also have our Toy Sale on Friday 15th December, if you can please donate any good condition and useable toys no later than Wed 13th Dec.
Anti-Bullying Week (added 9/11/17) NEW!
Next week (beginning Mon 13th Nov) is our anti-bullying week. In class children will be learning about respect, tolerance and cooperation through a variety of discussions and activities, and additional to this we have Rookie Rockstars coming in. This is a company that reinforce the anti-bullying message through working collaboratively with the whole school on a music project. Children will be learning original rock songs and using these to create their own music CD and put on a performance for parents on Wednesday 22nd November. More information about this will follow shortly. We also have our Friendship Disco from 6.30-8pm on Wednesday 15th November, £2 at the door and tuck available. Please come along, we can't wait!
Friends of Spittal (added 9/11/17) NEW!
Our Friends of Spittal Parent Council is now up and running for the new year and planning many exciting events to help raise money for our school and improve children's learning experiences. We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new members, but also encourage anyone else who may be interested to come along to our next meeting on Friday 15th December from 11.15am. You can also help us by volunteering on Wed 15th Nov at our Friendship disco and Fri 8th Dec at our Christmas Fayre. Thank you for your support.
Halloween Sponsored Disco (added 3/10/17) NEW!
Our annual Halloween Sponsored Disco will take place on Tuesday 31st October during school time. Children will be sent home a sponsor form (look out for these in bags in the next few weeks) which can be filled in and returned to school with the money on the day. Chidlren are being sponsored to dance the full time, a very tiring task - especially in costume! Remember, costumes do not need to be bought, please look around the house for anything you have already. Happy Halloween-ing!
Harvest Assembly (added 3/10/17) NEW!
Please note the change of date for our Harvest Assembly - it will be on Wednesday 11th October, instead of Wednesday 4th, at 11am sharp. Parents of P4/5 children are invited along as they are leading it for us, so please come and support them. We look forward to it!
MacMillan Coffee Morning (added 3/10/17) NEW!
On Friday 29th September we had a very busy and successful coffee morning and would like to thank you all for your support and generosity, we have raised a fantastic amount and the total is on the way! A special thank you to Mrs Houston, Mrs Wright and P3/4 for their hard work and organisational skills, it paid off!
Fit Start Workshops (added 7/9/17) NEW!
Primary 1 and 2 children and their families are invited to our Fit Start workshops on Thursday 14th, 21st and 28th September and 5th October from 3-4pm. This is an exciting workshop that will provide families with the opportunity to learn about healthy choices, staying active and most importantly having fun doing so! Look out for the sign up letter in bags this Monday coming (11th Sep) so you can take part - link below in Publications for more information.

Welcome back everyone! We hope you had a fabulous summer of resting and recovering before another busy year at Spittal Primary. We would like to say good luck to our former P7's who are now enjoying their first few weeks at secondary school, and a big warm welcome to our new P1's who are settling in and enjoying school life. The Rutherglen Reformer photographer will be in to take our new Primary 1's picture for the newspaper on Tuesday 5th September at 9.30am. Please ensure children are wearing their best uniform and most importantly, their biggest smile, on this day. Information regarding when the picture will be published will be given out nearer the time.

On Wednesday 6th September at 10.45am, our P3/4 class will be hosting our Welcome Back Assembly all about the Macmillan Coffee Morning. All parents of children in P3/4 are invited to attend - please come along and support us.
Friends of Spittal (added 3/9/17) NEW!
Our Friends of Spittal parent group will be getting up and running again this month, with our first meeting at 7pm on Wednesday 20th September in the school. Please come along and see all the good work we do to help maximise the children's learning opportunities, as we are always looking for fresh ideas and faces. Whether you can be part of our group, come to some meetings or become a parent helper, anything you can do is appreciated!
Open Day (added 3/9/17) NEW!
On Wednesday 13th September, parents/guardians are invited to attend our open afternoon which allows you to meet your child's teacher and see where they work. P1 parents are invited from 2pm, and P2-P7 parents are invited from 2.30pm. This is an informal visit to get to know their surroundings and have a quick chat with the teacher or other parents. We can't wait to show you around!S
Summer Concert (added 23/5/17) NEW!
The school children and nursery children will be putting on a show celebrating Summer on Monday 12th June in the afternoon and the school children will be performing also on Tuesday 13th June in the evening. This will be an opportunity for family and friends to come along and see our young stars on stage. More info about tickets and times will follow shortly – put the dates on your calendar!!
